Debussy, Liadov and Satie Now Available for Pacifica
Our Pacifica concert piece is an evocative journey through the shrouded ancient forests and lush, delicate undergrowth of the coastal Pacific Northwest.
To produce it, Nicholas photographed extensively for two months while camping along the coastlines of Washington and Oregon, followed by nearly 3,000 hours of image processing, music selection and choreography.
For the 2015–16 season, we’re offering some new musical pairings. In addition to music by Górecki, Mahler and Sibelius, orchestras can now also program Pacifica with Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, Liadov’s The Enchanted Lake or the orchestral arrangements of Satie’s Three Gymnopédies.
Whichever version of Pacifica orchestras choose to program for their concerts, it will make for an immersive, nature-filled evening.
